Yesterday was our last day in Capri and we arrived in Sorrento mid-day yesterday. Please enjoy the following pics;
This was where we stayed in Capri. Everyone's sign, street number are on these beautiful tiles...
You had to take 2 elevators up from our room - one to reach the pool area and the other to take you up to the reception area/exit. This was one of the lovely hallways leading to the elevators. They had such beautiful plants and potted flowers everywhere. Even in these hallways with no sun - I think someone had a full-time job rotating or replacing them every few days. Absolutely charming!
Another awesome door!
Not sure if I posted this or not but this was the name of the street our hotel was on...love the tiles!
Our last night in Capri we ate at this restaurant and this was our view...beautiful!
Restaurant:
The pool at Villa Brunella at night!
Walking back to take the cable car down to the ferry:
Goodbye Villa Brunella.....Phil and I both agreed it was our favorite hotel:
These cars were the only means of getting supplies (and luggage) from the center of Capri to all the hotels, restaurants.
For all you Capricorns out there!
This was a lovely florist we passed on our way out....gorgeous flowers!
This shop, seemingly dedicated to "Mickey D's".....I guess someone would wear these?! Patrick seems to love MacDonald's - I should've gotten him the flats.....LOL! (Love and miss ya Pat!)
Some of the other more famous shops in Capri that Eileen DID NOT shop in (but wished she could've!):
A bakery that had the most awesome goodies....Although my pignoli cookies were better (thanks to Phil's cousin Anna who gave me the recipe!)
Good-bye Capri! Ciao ciao!..........
Arrival in Sorrento on the ferry - took about 30 minutes from Capri:
View from our balcony at Hotel Mediterreano:
The pool and the beautiful landscaping:
Lemon trees are everywhere in Italy... Love it!
Looking up at the back of the hotel from the pool area:
One of the many ferry's going back and forth to and from Sorrento....
Happy hour on the balcony..... they only gave us one chair so I grabbed one from our neighbor's (balconies are very close - I wasn't scaling the hotel or anything....haha) hoping they weren't in the room. They were and promptly came out to introduce themselves.
Friendly couple from Huntington Beach, CA - :)
Dinner here our first night....pizza again and caprese salad - I'm going to turn in to a mozzarella ball by the end of this trip!
Sunset in Sorrento - from our balcony! Does it get any better than this?????
Hotel Mediterraneo bella luna!
The restaurant where they serve breakfast is on the top floor of the hotel. Phil slept in this morning and I went up to catch up on my blog and have some much needed coffee.
Met a lovely young couple from Australia while there.
I have to say we have met some of the nicest people while here.....
These next 2 shots are while I was up there......beautiful "wooden sailboat" - you don't see many of these anymore and pretty large cruise ship that came in overnight.
Post some more of our time in Sorrento tomorrow friends! Until then CIAO CIAO!
