The following pics are from yesterday - a free day! We had breakfast at the hotel and took off for the 'shopping' district - a long avenue they call "Via del Corso". There are shops all along and off the main street. The following are random pics taken along the way......
The next 2 pics are from a woodmaker's shop - he was like a modern day "Giapetto". Absolutely beautiful artistry. For all you motorcycle fans out there - check out the bike he carved:
He also carved this Pinocchio (hope you can open it!)
We were bummed we didn't get to go to the Trevi Fountain - apparently it's under construction for "7" years and has scaffolding all around it. As our concierge told us - there are many beautiful fountains in Rome and this is one we found. I believe it was in the Piazza Navona. Beautiful!
The church of St. Mary Magdalene. I thought we had beautiful churches in the U.S. but this one was absolutely breathtaking!
We then arrived at the Pantheon. Built in the 2nd century AD:
The doors leading into the Pantheon - I've developed a "thing" for doors while here in Italy.
Making Phil carry the heavy bag of goodies for a bit!
Ok, so I thought it was funny! Flo Rida.....Sometimes, I get a good feelin', I get a feelin' like I never, never, never had before.......hahahahahah!
More fountain pics, love my new hat!
Yes, there is such a thing.......
Walking back along the Tiber from our fun day! The trees lining the river are so pretty...
